DFN currently has about 500 active accounts and plans to grow its network along the I-5 corridor of Douglas County. The county consists of about 120 square miles located between Eugene and Medford, Ore. DFN provides high-speed communications services, both data and voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP), mostly to hospitals and local governments.

We have recently upgraded our wireless network to the latest technology, and have greatly expanded our coverage area. We now offer the service throughout most of Newport, and in particular cover most of the business area from 20th street to the bridge, as well as coverage along the beach from Yaquina State Park to north of Nye Beach, and Hwy 20 east to the light. Please note that because the technology requires line-of-sight to our access points, hills, trees, or structures may create blind spots where we are unable to offer service.

All of our wireless access plans are metered by amount of data transferred. This allows us to provide performance far in excess of alternatives (DSL, cable) while charging competitive prices. If your application requires very high data transfer amounts (e.g. running a music swapping server), then the alternatives which limit your data rate may be more attractive. Native over-the-air data rate is 10mb. Maximum throughput is 4.5mb down and 1.5mb up. Our internet backbone connection is currently 3mb.
